24 Frames of Dreaming

I usually don’t mourn celebrity deaths but Lauren Bacall’s is different, somehow. Even though she lived a long and full life, we Old Hollywood fans still grieve for ourselves. Who is left? We have lost one of our last connections to the Golden Age. Another of the shining threads has snapped; and though we’re happy that she’s now reunited with her beloved Bogie, it breaks our hearts a little as well. We are reminded that Time is forever pulling us further away from this era that means so much to us.
Thank you, Lauren, for leaving behind your luminous wit, bravery, and beauty in the art you created. We’ll always treasure it, and you.
